Saint Mary’s James Green earned one of just three starting pitcher spots on the 14-player D3baseball.com All-Midwest Region First-Team.

Saint Mary’s James Green and Matthew Piechowski collected more post-season hardware late last month, as Green was named ABCA/Rawlings Midwest Region Pitcher of the Year, and he and Piechowski were tabbled First-Team All-Midwest Region.

For the eighth time this post-season, Green was recognized as one of the best of the best, collecting one of the most prestigious post-season awards in the country when he was named ABCA/Rawlings Third-Team All-America.

Track & field

The Saint Mary’s men’s 4x100 relay team of Matt Boone, Desmond Steward, Noah Anderson, and Kyle Lichttenegger placed 16th with a time of 42.10 in their first-ever NCAA Outdoor National Championships in Geneva, Ohio.

It was a sophomore season to remember for Saint Mary’s Christian Beamer and Rachel Ohde. And the Cardinal high jumpers capped the year off in style at the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships at SPIRE Institute. Beamer sailed through the first two heights in the men’s high jump, before his run came to a screeching halt — settling for a tie for 10th in the 20-man field — while Ohde placed tied for 16th among the 22 competitors in the women’s event.

David Kemper, competing in his second — and last — NCAA outdoor national championships, cleared 4.60 meters to place 16th in the pole vault Saturday in Geneva, Ohio.
