PlastiCert, a veteran of innovative and quality plastic injection molding design and manufacturing services for nearly 40 years, has been pronounced a Top Shop by Plastics Technology Magazine.
In the October edition of Plastics Technology Magazine, the editors revealed the results of their recently run benchmark survey for injection molders. Plastics Technology sent their exclusive benchmarking survey to subscribers. Of the companies that responded to this inaugural survey, Plastics Technology designated 27 injection molders as Top Shops. Their methodology queried the molders on numerous key performance indicators (KPIs). In addition to demographic data, the survey asked for information on some key metrics, including areas like sales growth, sales per machine and employee, scrap rate, and setup time, among others. Scoring on 10 of these metrics was used as a means to separate 2019’s Top Shops from the rest of the respondents.
“PlastiCert is honored to be among this elite group,” remarked Craig Porter, PlastiCert’s president and owner. “We have taken great strides identifying those metrics that will help assess ourselves, and then act upon that data. Improvement is a trip and not a destination. We pride ourselves on working closely with our customers, understanding their needs, incorporating that into our business plans and communicating where we are going to our people.”
While there were striking similarities between Top Shops and others when it came to technologies and equipment, the differentiation started to pronounce itself when questions delved into the offerings to customers in the value-add area. All showing stark contrast were Top Shops making investments in people and equipment, running assessments and business reviews of their plans and operations, business strategy, and most importantly, communicating that information to their people.
