The Win-Cres Chapter of Trout Unlimited is hosting a fundraising banquet on Saturday, November 23, at Holzinger Lodge. The cost for the banquet is $20. A sponsorship is available for $100. The sponsorship includes the meal and 50 raffle tickets that can be used in the bucket raffles. For tickets or a reservation, contact Chuck Shepard at 507-452-8898 or Jim Clark at 507-454-8299. The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with the telling of summer fishing stories, enjoyment of wild game appetizers and time to bid on silent auction items or drop a lucky ticket in the bucket raffles. Dinner is at 7 p.m.

The menu is pork tenderloin with chutney, cheesy potatoes, ginger carrots and coleslaw, homemade dinner rolls and desserts.

You can take a chance on a bamboo fly rod crafted by Steve Sobieniak of the Root River Rod Company in Lanesboro. A chance on the rod is $10. If you buy 10 tickets and win the rod, Sobieniak will offer you a guided trout fishing trip on streams in Southeast Minnesota.
