City of Winona manager
As I type this note, yet another storm is dumping snow down on us. I want to take a moment and pass along my appreciation to the Winona community for pushing on with life despite the now record-breaking February snowfall. It’s only natural that this onslaught of snow, ice and bitter cold tries the patience of us all, but I appreciate how, as a community, we bundle up and take on life as it shows up. After all, what else can we do about it? I also want to thank our city employees who are working as hard as they can to keep the streets open and eventually haul away the mountains of snow that are piled up around town. I appreciate their efforts and those of the mechanics who also put in long hours to keep our equipment in working order. It’s not been an easy winter for all of us, but hey, spring is only 28 days away!
